| DISABITARE. DOROTHY GRAY AT THE MUSEO DELL'ARREDO CONTEMPORANEO |
On initiative by Raffaello Biagetti the Museo dell'Arredo Contemporaneo of Russi (Ravenna), containing a collection of design and furnishing generally considered among the more important in Europe.
In the second half of the years an Eighty commission of experts, between which Giovanni Klaus Koenig, Giuseppe Chigiotti and Filippo Alison, it has selected 150 pieces of furnishings that they have constituted one first permanent exposure on the history of the design and the furnishings from 1880 to 1980.
Subsequently such exposure, thanks to the good set and the explicative and didactic system – edited by Piero Castiglioni –, has been transformed in a museum that, divided for sections, represents some historical periods, movements and great personages.
On show from 23 April to 21 May 2006 we signal the presence of the intriguer extension Disabitare, realized by Dorothy Gray; a group of young designers – Matteo Pini, Giovanni Delvecchio, Simone Cannolicchio, Matteo Manenti, Federico Santolini –, winners at the Salone Satellite of Milan 2005.
A table with a true garden in means, a chair that plays with the own shadow, a drawer that more watches it more transforms under your eyes in a strange creature without that nothing in it is changed.
Basing their style mainly on one poetics of the disturbance, they are tilts to the creation of objects that become true masters of ceremony, with which interacting sometimes and, because not, to quarrel; as with the lamps Non Gioco Pił, in which three switches force to try the just combination, always various, to every attention.
Also for Siamese Dream teapot it is the multiplication of a part to create the lack of balance: the double small beak obligates to fill up two cups for time, emphasizing the conviviality of the ritual of tea.
Mr. John Cage, a spiteful record stand, amuses itself instead hiding discs, and one is had accidental and cyclical use of the collection.

9999, the other chair of the collection, has bears the sign of the years that pass through a meter that releases to every sitting. The co-ordinate small table is the folding top of the same chair.
Other examples show how Dorothy Gray joins to concept a planning coherence that allows them to obtain produced interesting aesthetically and never banal they are the prototypes: Biancaneve n.19 – a bed in order to consume the nutriment of the man –, Burton – the ready made –, Flatlandia –, Hikikomori vase, Una chiave nel cassetto system, Mail boulevard – the container of messages's paper –, Marcellino table, Marcello and Musette composition, Pandemio – the connection of two standard lampshades –, Chang e Read, Sanguinella, the table in wood Sativa –, and Downward spiral, for a competition by Ottaviani argenti company.
