 FRANCESCO FILIPPI


Born in Milan 18 September 1956, where he lives and works.
Francesco Filippi designs and produces since 1993, with the Oniris trade mark, objects that he likes to define an "emotional design" thanks to the strong emotions that these projects stirs up in the people. Mechanical engineer, Master in Business Administration, sculptor and designer, Francesco Filippi has always been attracted by projects contaminated by different communication processes like cinema, advertising, fashion, art and design. Experimental objects, contaminated, which well answer to the continue transformation and mutation process of things and events. In his carrier Francesco Filippi wins a lot of design prizes and recognitions, with his projects exposed in many museums and art modern galleries in the world. In 1988 Francesco Filippi creates Eos, the first mobile forniture in the design world, wich represents the universe and the earth together with its elements: the sky and the sea. In 1991 he designs and produces the circular scissors Cutfish for right hand and left hand uses, exposed at the "Design Museum of London", at the "Blade Museum" of Solingen and in other design museums and modern art galleries in the world. This object is known for its circular shape and for its irreverent packaging. Following the creation of Cutfish, many other design object have been created by Francesco Filippi: Seaupsidedown (1991) mechanical sofa with the shape of a wave which reproduces the sea movements; Winbuster (1992) circular fun; Girogirotondo (1992) children toy designed to be used in park areas; Bollicina (1994) floating soap; Pesci (1995) knife with retractile blade; Pr-ovo a Volare (1996) egg cutter with the shape of a little bird; Specchio di Biancaneve (Snowwhite's Mirror, 2000) holographic mirror with two sides; Skycubes (2001) wooden cubic puzzle.
In 2007 Francesco Filippi opens a web-sites: www.francescofilippi.com shopping site for design object and art gallery of his works.

Francesco Filippi has been publicized on the design book: "50 Projects", "50 Beds"; and on many design magazines like: GB Progetti, GAP Casa, Modo, Ottagono, Fascicolo, Casa Vogue, Abitare, XOffice, DDN, Interni, L'Arca, Domus, Progettare, Materie Plastiche, Acciaio Inossidabile, Promotion.
Francesco Filippi will be publicized on The Museum of Modern Art Design Enciclopedya (MOMA, New York).

1993 Selectioned at the "Neste Forma Finlandia Competition" in Neste Oy in Finlandia with Girogirotondo" toys for children for park.
1993 Selectioned at the "The wind and the air" a Osaka in Japan with the circular fun Windbuster".
Selectioned at the "Swiss design prize" in Geneve in Switzerland with the circular scissors Cutfish.
1993 Selectioned at the "Neoeclectic object" at "Abitare il tempo" in Verona with the circular forniture Earth Object System.
1994 Selectioned at the "Premio Cosmopack" in Bologna with the parfume bottle "Thougth".
1994 First public prize at "Grandesign" in Pesaro with the circular scissors Cutfish.
1995 Selectioned at the "Grandesign" in Pesaro with the blade retractile knife "Fish".
2000 Selectioned at the "Grandesign" in Milan in the Workshop for Breil with three technological watches.
2000 Selectioned at the "Top Design" of Grandesign in Milan with the "Snowwhite's Mirror".
