 REBEL

Rebel is a exhibition displayed during the Milan International Furniture Fair 2007 by the Edizioni Galleria Colombari. Subversive title centred on the themes of freedom and human rights. Freedom from the historical and natural laws with the exhaltations of the minorities and the differentations.
The exhibition underlines a new language marked by the Hip Hop culture where fragments become puzzles pieces of furniture.

"Minorities have always been oppressed and obscured from the establishment in all their expressions..." Antonio Cagianelli - reference point designer of this new trend, asserts. With his new collection The house of rebel spirit present his new chair Rebel, padded seat in printed fabric and metal and the sofa table Rock in black plexiglass and laser drawings. His purpose is the mise en scene of another aspect of the historical rebellion, the street style one, the graffitis, last form of contest after the massive one of the Seventies.

Also the world-wide known designer Karim Rashid, who with the Aitali K2- Ikoned and thePrints for YaYo Design, has always marked his pieces by astrenght sensibility for democracy as shown in his remake often inspired by the Seventies... faces this theme with courage.
Valentina Giovando presented her work T.1.9.5.0 Hommage to Tibet tool to think on the pain of the exile and the oppression of the Tibetan nation.

Elsa Milani presented a dish named HIP HOP wich reflects her research path on the primary design in particular on light, born in 1985 in the Domus Academy. There also be an Art video dedicated to transgression, with historycal testimonials like Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Pierre Restany, Andrea Branzi.

The artist Maurizio Vetrugno through his art pieces of embroidered paintings as his works here represented Iggy Pop and Valladine Sane takes reference from the cover of the albums of the fifthies, sixties and seventies and creates his own unique language.

David Palterer with his work Verde and Adam le'adam Ze'ev will face the problem of the dramatic way of life of mankind - Homo homini lupus est. His work is a collage influenced by the Balkans war. in the exhibition there will also be the work The Judgment; a glass sculpture against the death penalty.

Last but not least the graphic artist Stefano Rovai present with one of his works As nobody will kill him; always against the death penalty.

The exhibition Rebel wants to be an exhibition/research up to the last form of reaction to the Horror Vacui of this particular hystorical moment.
