 Design Objects Exhibition by Giulio Iacchetti


Cultural Center Mylos of Salonicco, from june 22 to July 2 2006, presents 27 Progetti Esatti, objects of design exhibition by Giulio Iacchetti.

27 Progetti Esatti arises from the intention to bring the Italian Design around the world and is a travelling exhibition inside Festitalia of Salonicco, a cultural event dedicated to Italy. It is a co-production by NABA and Giulio Iacchetti Studio with the partnership of Italian Culture Institute of Salonicco and Mylos Cultural Center.

Alessandro Guerriero, the headmaster of Naba (Academy of Arts and Design-Milan) and the author of the event, chooses for the occasion to tell and document the design production of Giulio Iacchetti the one who turns ordinary things in right objects, basically exactly and correct in the way Beppe Finessi introduces him in the preface of catalogue.

Giulio Iacchetti, selects and picks up some of his objects and experimental models and stages the set design of the exhibition that will move in the next month to the Italian Culture Institute of the world.

27 small, light, slim objects, revealing intelligence and meaning, combine themselves in a way that underlines the evolution of the ordinary things and the relationship with things and places, identifying the Italian culture and creativity of new generation:

Joe, basket in bent wood collapsible;

Lamandarina, pen whose detail of the clip is the spout of the duck, company's symbol;

Spazio Grill, frying-pan;

Taschino, humidifier in gres;

Spoon'tino,, spoons for animals in polypropylene where the shape of the cup concurs I use optimal on the bottom of the jar;

Pollicino, provocative trencher for crumbs;

Bambolo, set of wood's cutlery, where the fork is obtained from the knife;

Moscardino, biodegradable cover multifunction in Mater-Bi, winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 2001;

Napoletana , classic Neapolitan coffee-pot in aluminum and termoresistente plastic;

Frollino, biscuit with chocolate and hazel-nut;

H2Oro, ice box;

Menera, salad's cutlery obtained by laser technology, solution that allows to have the maximum saving of material;

Nina, candlestick in aluminum;

Korto, set of cutlery "shortened" to save material;

Duetto, original cutlery;

Feed Card, set of minium-cutlery for travel, whose dimension is equal to a credit card;

Pizza Set, cutlery for pizza;

Moia and Stow, vases in Corian;

Black-Out, double candlestick to use in case of black out;

Molletta, economic clothes-peg;

Geko, light, colored and flexible module for walls;

Zup'Up, pottery's bowl with container;

Coltello Italia and Cavatappi 110, meat's knife and corkscrew by hand realizes with materials and traditional finishing of Scarperia, a small town near Florence;

Cazzuola, small shovel for cakes, inspired by the shape of the instrument of the mason;

Nutella Spoon, spoon in alimentary cardboard dedicated to Nutella's product;

Pantheon Game, multireligious declination of a classic furnishings complement. Varying the position of the cubes it is possible to obtain 7 different images, everyone representative of a religious or political creed. The 12 white faces correspond to the atheism, the chance of the combination to a spiritual confusion;

Giulio Iacchetti (Castelleone, 1966) is an industrial designer since 1992. He also manage an intense didactic work for different universities and design schools, in Italy and abroad. He has been awarded with a number of international prizes. In 2001 his project for a disposable for Moscardino (whith Matteo Ragni) won the Compasso d'Oro ADI, now part of the permanent design exhibition at MOMA, New York.
