MILAN INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE FAIR 2008

DEMA's history begins in San Gimignano, in the heartland of Tuscany. From its very inception, DEMA's production was based on clearly defined basic principles: technical and aesthetic quality in design, functionality and environmental compatibility. In time, this vocation has made for a unique collection in taste, technology and creativity, unrivalled on the international market for quality design sofas and armchairs. DEMA employs over 50 workers at its 15,000 square meter plant in Certaldo, housing its production, Research & Development and product and prototype engineering divisions, plus an in-house Show-Room open to specialists and professionals in the field. DEMA relies on the co-operation of well-known designers. Its main focus is on the production of armchairs and sofas for indoor environments. In recent years the company has widened its scope to include in its range of products high-tech 'contract' projects featuring state-of-the-art environmental compatibility. Several DEMA projects have been the recipients of major international awards.

By designer Marco Agnoli ,SanPaolo sofa is a piece blending the most traditional of comforts with a cultured and multi-layered aesthetic. Available in the two or three-seat versions, ever elegant and linear in its slightly rounded shapes, SanPaolo is somber in volumes and highly refined in its look. With exchangeable covers, available in both leather and fabric, for utmost practicality.

A new and innovative project, to be previewed at Salone del Mobile 2008, Tetrix is the centrepiece of a full collection for living interiors. By designer Marc Krusin , this sofa features a very high back-rest, doubling as head-rest and shaping an intimate, enclosed, embracing space. Maximum comfort heightened by a young and dynamic personality and by endless combinations. With exchangeable covers, available in both leather and fabric, Tetrix features an easy-to-perform modular design allowing it to be fitted and adjusted at will, to satisfy any requirement or space.

Already wide ranging and versatile, Dema has now been further enriched by a new product. Created by designer Prospero Rasulo, the innovative furnishing element is being launched in two different versions, Bitta and Clessidra. Functioning as both coffee-table and stool, Bitta and Clessidra are both essential and elegant, with a straighter base for the former and hour-glass curving for the latter. Economical in both space and volumes, both versions are made more sophisticated by the originality of shapes and a trace of ironic luxury in colourings.

Perfect on their own, ideal if together, Morandine are objects of interior design as well as an homage paid to the best contemporary art - as their name clearly reveals. Alive in plasticity, dynamism and lightness, these floor lamps by designer Roberta Giovanardi are pure shapes of light. Supported by an inner structure in clear metallic wire, their covering in lycra brings out subtle forms, both essential and evocative.

A sofa summing up the elegant, cutting-edge and high-end manufacturing that are crucial features of the Dema brand. By designers Roberto Tapinassi e Maurizio Manzoni, Park is an island of comfort and functionality, both somber and refined, with soft and rounded though slick and open-ended lines, characteristically modular in its many possible combinations. Economical, and still aesthetically note-worthy, its volumes combine classic and modern references into a balanced harmony. Lightness and measure in composition are blended in an ideal structure for living interiors, suitable for any needs of relaxation and for a laid-back and stimulating conversation space.

To be previewed at Salone del Mobile 2008, Relaxxa – by Denis Santachiara blends comfort, technology and elegance within an impeccable shape. This truly unique armchair emulates the clear and essential lines of a true chaise-longue. In a choice of leather or fabric, its cover is fully exchangeable and available in a refined range of Dema colours. Slick, made of highly selected materials - from the upholstery to the coverings, down to the stainless steel of the stand - Relaxxa – progettata da Denis Santachiara most of all keeps the promise of its name.
