When I design an object, I try to create a handicraft object, inspired by our traditions, but remodelled in such a way that it becomes useable also in our modern times, dominated by industrial products... Ease of production of any given shape is an essential requirement of industrial design. It takes me a long time to design an object that is both easy tomake and asy to use. Obviously, the best design is that inspired by traditional, everyday objects, thich are later improved through constant use.»
